Amotech has commenced full-scale mass production of high-performance MLCCs for AI data centers.

2026-08-18 News 1

On July 15, 2026, the South Korean company Amotech announced the start of full-scale mass production of high-performance multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) designed for AI data centers and next-generation network markets. Spearheaded by "ultra-high-frequency broadband MLCCs"—essential components for high-performance optical networks—Amotech is officially entering the AI data center market; the company plans to begin formal shipments of broadband MLCCs to a global U.S. optical communications firm in the second half of this year and anticipates supplying higher-priced ultra-wideband MLCC products starting next year.

In addition to its existing client base, Amotech is actively expanding its reach to more global customers. The company anticipates a continued rise in the supply of broadband MLCCs—designed for high-speed optical communication networks in AI data centers—to markets including the U.S., Taiwan, and China, starting early next year. Furthermore, ultra-small broadband MLCCs for specialized applications, co-developed with major North American semiconductor firms, are currently undergoing testing as next-generation, space-saving solutions; their formal adoption is expected to commence by the end of this year.

Aligning with the expansion of the global AI supply chain, Amotech has prioritized its core AI data center MLCC business as a company-wide strategic focus. Driven by the full-scale implementation of projects with key global AI clients, the company anticipates rapid performance growth. Amotech projects that sales of its AI-focused MLCCs will increase more than tenfold by the end of this year compared to last year, followed by another fivefold increase next year, signaling a robust upward growth trajectory.

As the AI market expands and global investment in high-performance GPUs and ultra-high-speed optical network infrastructure surges, Amotech has gained significant recognition for its competitiveness in ultra-high-frequency products and high-voltage MLCC technology for AI applications. With the official mass production and supply of AI-grade MLCCs commencing in the second half of this year, the company is set to solidify its position as a key component supplier serving both AI data centers and the global automotive electronics market.

Aibang has established an MLCC industry discussion group; you are welcome to apply to join. Join the MLCC (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor) industry exchange group.
