Sunway Communication ramps up its strategic layout in high-end MLCCs.
On the evening of July 14, Sunway Communication (300136) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sunway Communication (Yiyang) Co., Ltd. ("Yiyang Sunway"), plans to acquire a 55% equity stake in Sunway Electronic Technology (Yiyang) Co., Ltd. ("Yiyang Electronic Technology") via a cash transaction. Upon completion of the deal, Sunway Communication’s shareholding in Yiyang Electronic Technology will increase from 15% to 70%, granting it control and resulting in the company being included in its consolidated financial statements.

This acquisition marks a strategic move by Sunway Communication to further ramp up its presence in the high-end MLCC sector.
Sunway Communication stated that as downstream applications evolve—particularly with the surging demand for high-performance MLCCs in AI servers—strengthening its high-end MLCC product portfolio has become a key strategic choice for developing a "second growth curve." The plan to increase its equity stake in the associate company Yiyang Electronic Technology via a wholly-owned subsidiary is rooted in long-term strategic planning. This move aims to consolidate the high-end MLCC business—which has already undergone technical validation and initial adoption by major domestic and international clients—into the company's financial statements. It is designed to accelerate business breakthroughs in high-end passive components and enhance the company's comprehensive service and vertical integration capabilities in this sector.
Public records indicate that Yiyang Electronic Technology was established in June 2021 with a total investment exceeding RMB 20 billion. The company focuses on the domestic localization of high-end components and the deepening of "materials-to-components" one-stop R&D and manufacturing capabilities. Benchmarking itself against Japan's Murata, the company specializes in high-end MLCCs (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors).
