Amid robust demand for MLCCs, Boqian New Materials plans to invest 200 million yuan in a metal powder project.

2026-08-18 News 2

On July 21, 2026, Jiangsu Boqian New Materials Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 605376; Stock Abbreviation: Boqian New Materials) announced plans to invest in and construct three projects—namely, a "Project for Capacity Expansion of Nano-Nickel Powder via Precision Classification," a "Project for Capacity Expansion of Nickel Powder (200nm and Below) via Precision Classification," and a "Project with an Annual Output of 600 Tons of Ultrafine Metal Powder Materials"—in order to further meet customer needs, solidify its competitive market advantage, and align with its current operational status and medium-to-long-term development strategy; the company and its subsidiaries, Jiangsu Guangyu Energy Storage Materials Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Guangqian Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., will serve as the implementing entities for these projects.

Among these, the planned investment for the "project to expand capacity for the precision classification of nano-nickel metal powder" is approximately RMB 35 million; the planned investment for the "project to expand capacity for the precision classification of nickel powder (200 nm and below)" is approximately RMB 89 million; and the planned investment for the "project with an annual output of 600 tons of ultrafine metal powder materials" is approximately RMB 77.5 million. The final figures will be subject to the actual investment amounts incurred during construction. Funding for these projects will be sourced from internal funds and bank loans; no proceeds from capital raising activities are involved. The projects are currently in the preliminary preparation stage, and construction has not yet commenced. Project names, investment amounts, and construction details represent the company's preliminary plans; specific details are subject to subsequent project filings and actual construction.

Demand for Boqian New Materials' core products—ultrafine metal powders—continues to grow, driven by sectors such as AI servers, new energy vehicles (NEVs), high-end consumer electronics, and the shift toward low-silver or silver-free photovoltaic electrode materials. Specifically, the ongoing upgrades in AI servers, data centers, NEVs, and consumer electronics are fueling demand for high-performance MLCCs, thereby raising performance requirements for the nickel powder used in their internal electrodes. As MLCC products evolve toward miniaturization, higher capacitance, and greater reliability, the associated nickel powder must meet stringent specifications—including ultrafine particle size, narrow particle size distribution, high sphericity, and stable sintering performance—which in turn drives market demand for the company's high-performance MLCC-grade nickel powder. This investment project will help further expand Boqian New Materials' production capacity for ultrafine metal powders, optimize its product mix, and enhance both its profitability and capacity for sustainable development.
