  • Taiyo Yuden Plans New Barium Titanate Facility

Taiyo Yuden recently announced plans to construct a new facility for the production and R&D of barium titanate—a ceramic dielectric material essential for manufacturing multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs)—at its Haruna Plant in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. Driven by robust demand for AI servers, the company aims to expand its MLCC production capacity at an annual rate of approximately 10% between the 2026 and 2030 fiscal years. This initiative is designed to ensure a stable material supply chain and accelerate development by physically bringing R&D and production teams closer together. Construction of the new facility is scheduled to begin in November, with completion expected in 2028.

The project entails renovating existing production facilities to boost manufacturing efficiency. Additionally, Taiyo Yuden will integrate R&D personnel specializing in multilayer products and materials from a nearby research center. Production capacity will also be further expanded through the installation of new equipment at the materials production plant within the Yahatabara factory (also located in Takasaki City).

Taiyo Yuden plans to invest a total of 270 billion yen in facility construction over the five-year period spanning fiscal years 2026 to 2030. While the specific allocation of funds has not been disclosed, President Katsuya Sase stated that the scale of investment for MLCCs is on a "completely different order of magnitude"; he noted that although this investment does not account for the entire total, a "significant portion" of the funds will be dedicated to increasing capacitor production.

  • Longhua Technology Enters the High-End Barium Titanate Powder Market

On July 3, 2026, Longhua Technology Group (Luoyang) Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 300263; Stock Abbreviation: Longhua Technology) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Fenglianke Optoelectronics (Luoyang) Co., Ltd., plans to jointly establish a joint venture—Guangxi Jingci Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. (tentative name, subject to final industrial and commercial registration)—focused on electronic-grade barium titanate. The joint venture will have a registered capital of RMB 10 million. Fenglianke Optoelectronics will contribute RMB 3 million from its own funds, holding a 30% stake; Zhu Guisheng will contribute RMB 2.2 million (22% stake); Zhao Yunyun will contribute RMB 0.8 million (8% stake); Li Bobo will contribute RMB 2.2 million (22% stake); and Zhao Guangzheng will contribute RMB 1.8 million (18% stake).

This investment to establish a joint venture aims to capitalize on opportunities arising from the steady growth of the global barium titanate market and the surging demand for high-end nano-scale powders in sectors such as 5G-A/6G, AI servers, and new energy vehicles. It seeks to drive the large-scale, independent production of high-end barium titanate powder, thereby overcoming the long-standing reliance on overseas suppliers—a critical bottleneck—and meeting the domestic MLCC industry's urgent need for core dielectric materials. Furthermore, this investment represents a key strategic move to expand the company's footprint into the high-value-added electronic ceramic materials sector and extend its reach into critical upstream segments; this will help diversify the product portfolio, cultivate new profit growth drivers, and enhance the company's core competitiveness.

Aibang has established an MLCC industry exchange group; you are welcome to apply to join. We invite you to join the MLCC (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor) industry exchange group.
